Yesteryear Collection

Located on the river Wupper in the industrial north of Germany, the small village of Burg had its own fire brigade as early as 1836. One of the most significant catastrophies they had to deal with was the conflagaration of the ancient castle in 1920, when their resourcefulness prevented the castle from being totally destroyed.

In 1973, Burg became part of the town of Solingen and its volunteer fire brigade was integrated into the larger Solingen Fire Brigade.

This 1932 Mercedes Benz Type L5 diesel truck was equipped with a 22 metre turntable ladder constructed in three sections. Extremely effective in rescuing people from tall burning buildings, this fire truck is a legend in the annals of fire fighting history.

Production was limited to 3,500 units
